Programming languages
The world wide web transfers files in programming language to functional websites that are now interactive and informative. When the www first began HTML(Hyper Text Markup Language) was the main code is used to structure and format content on the web; page elements like the titles, headings, text and links. However, can not make websites interactive – only links, text and pictures.
Today, website design is more advanced. There are several types of website code languages that programmers use to build website (as shown in the image below). We are not going to learn code in this class, BUT I would like to you understand the amount of code it takes to create the sites we use each day.

It is the interface we see on some of the major websites we use such as Facebook, Wikipedia, Amazon, Twitter, YouTube and Google (By the way these are all Databases too!!!). Some other programming languages that are used to run the sites are C++, Java and Python.
